Normalization for pixel efficiency [det(E)/mon(E)] makes a significant improvement in the dispersion between spectra. However, significant dispersion and variance remain in the pre-edge region and increase at higher energies. Furthermore, the spectral trend with energy is not in agreement with the transmission data (Fig. 2[link]). Typical applications of this limited approach pin spectra at the edge or pre-edge and diverge away from this empirical pin. This methodology is not sufficient for high-accuracy data analysis.
